بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah The most Gracious The Most Merciful
When allah mentions the performance of prayer in the Quran the giving of zakat is mentioned right after it. This is present in many places in the glorious Qur`an:
And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give zakat and bow down (or submit yourselves with obedience to Allah) along with Ar-Raki’un. (Surah Al-Baqara, 2:43)
And (remember) when We took a covenant from the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none but Allah (Alone) and be dutiful and good to parents, and to kindred, and to orphans and Al-Masakin (the poor), and speak good to people [i.e. enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, and say the truth about Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give zakat. Then you slid back, except a few of you, while you are backsliders. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi). (Surah Al-Baqara, 2:83)
Truly those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give zakat they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Surah Al-Baqara, 2:277)
…But if they repent and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give zakat, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(Surah At-Taubah, 9:5)
