Claim of Incomplete Message

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the Name of Allah The most Gracious The Most Merciful

The shia claim that the Message is not complete and we seek refuge with Allah from such claims. They claim that the Qur`an is missing verses and chapters “The Munafiqeen (i.e. Sahaba) took very much out of Quran (took out the verses).” (Ihtijaj-e-tibri, page #382). They also claim the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) did not narrate the whole message. This idea goes against the very core of Islam in that Allah subhanahu ta’ala sent this message as the last message and He told us it would be preserved. How can anyone claim to be a Muslim or slave of Allah if he thinks that the words of Allah are missing or that the Prophet did not complete the message?

Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) says:
…This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islâm as your religion… (Surah al-Ma`idah 5:3)

Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) says about His Book:
And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which We have sent down (i.e. the Qur’ân) to Our slave (Muhammad Peace be upon him ), then produce a Sûrah (chapter) of the like thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides Allâh, if you are truthful. (surah Al-Baqarah 2:23)

His (سبحانه و تعالى) words:
Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’ân) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (Surah Al-Hijr 15:9)

His (سبحانه و تعالى) saying:
Say: “If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Qur’ân, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:88)

His (سبحانه و تعالى) saying:
All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad SAW) the Book (the Qur’ân), and has not placed therein any crookedness. (Surah Al-Kahf 18:1)

(He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism), who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Paradise). (Surah Al-Kahf 18:2)

The ahadith of the prophet:
Narrated Abu Bakra: The prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:… No doubt! Haven’t I conveyed Allah’s message to you? They said, “Yes.” He said, “O Allah! Be witness. So it is incumbent upon those who are present to convey it (this information) to those who are absent because the informed one might comprehend it (what I have said) better than the present audience, who will convey it to him. Beware! Do not renegade (as) disbelievers after me by striking the necks (cutting the throats) of one another.” (Sahih al bukhari)

In another hadith:
From Abdullah ibn abbas narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: Indeed I am leaving with you that which if you adhere to it you will never go astray after me: The Book of Allah and my Sunnah. (al haakim in al mustadrak ‘alas-saheehayn, al bayhaqi in as sunan al kubra, al ajuri in ash-shari’ah)

To say that Allah’s (سبحانه و تعالى) book has been tampered with or is missing a chapter as they say it is missing the chapter of ali, is major kufr (major disbelief) and takes one out of the fold of islam. After reading these verses and ahadith how can they claim that the Qur`an is not complete? Are they belying the All Mighty and His Messenger? We seek refuge with Allah. It is not surprising that they could say such things as it is even written in their books like al-kafi which states “Allaah often lies and does mistakes.” (usool al-kaafi, page #328, yaqoob kulaini, vol 1). May Allah destroy them and not bring them any moment of rest in this life and in the hereafter, ameen.
